tin tunes from the galaxy

Germán Ponte: his gear, keyboards & appurtenances; his melodious squawk; a splendid misanthrope.

Germán Ponte gave his first musical steps exploring the luscious sonic experience provided by mundane paraphernalia, including variously tuned pans and mass destruction whistles. After a few unrewarding years under the eye of proffesors who demanded that all notes should be kept in their place (the poor notes, so happy wihtout undue constraint), he began to seek the company of dubious characters and was introduced into the shady and arcane world of audio recording.

He finished his first mix at eleven; managed his first ping pong at twelve; from then on, all was a spiralling downfall into the abyss of computers and evil digital sequencers. A long exposition to the numeric quantization of sound waves made his budding obsessive-compulsive disorder to explode with enormous virulence... in order to cut, move, paste, edit, torture and filter thousands of innocent MIDI and audio regions.
