Space Weirdo
tin tunes from the galaxy
One giant leap

This is the story of a musician and a producer who loved to stray away from the usual guidelines set by the music industry. Following a strict What's-The-Rush policy, Cosmonaut was born after a couple of years of lax recording sessions. This album is an alien and heterogeneous beast out of a cocktail shaker that mixed a bit of David Bowie, Western and American Song, Frank Black, a slash of Chanson française and lots of imagination.

The result comprises eight tracks, each within its own universe. Some will make you dance, some will make you think, there are even a few that might make you cry. They've got everything that's needed to seduce the most demanding and varied listeners: Channel 09 will delight the funk fan; One Small Step is perfect for those nuts about the American instrumental piece; and Farewell Mary --amazing female vocals-- will suit those of delicate taste with a weakness for the Chanson française.

It's uncertain how Space Weirdo will fare on stage, but there's no doubt that the adventure will continue with new material. It's a rare treat that nurtures Madrid's musical scene with new hues, and we must be grateful; few bands like this one are to be found. Of course, Dwomo were among the pioneers; now, once again, we enjoy the rise of new blood and the demo art world is saved from stagnation.
